Class 4A
1. Clark (6-0, Last week 1) — The Chargers won their first big Southwest League challenge, against Desert Oasis on Tuesday, 79-62.
2. Bishop Gorman (5-1, LW 2) — The Gaels haven’t lost to a Nevada team this year.
3. Foothill (4-0, LW 3) — The Falcons have one more tune up, at Rancho on Friday, before the Tarkanian Classic.
4. Coronado (3-0, LW 4) — The Cougars have only played three games, but look strong.
5. Canyon Springs (6-0, LW 5) — Kevin Legardy is making his case for player of the year, averaging 27.3 points per game.
6. Faith Lutheran (7-0, LW 6) — The Crusaders couldn’t have asked for a better start to their year, and play back-to-back Northwest League games coming up.
7. Desert Oasis (6-3, LW 8) — The Diamondbacks fought back and outscored Clark 24-10 in the second quarter Tuesday before eventually falling.
8. Arbor View (9-1, LW 10) — The Aggies are not messing around this season, rolling through the early slate of their schedule.
9. Liberty (2-2, LW 9) — The Patriots will get to prove themselves against Clark on Friday.
10. Cimarron-Memorial (6-2, LW unranked) — The Spartans jumped into the rankings after beating Palo Verde and Cheyenne.
Class 3A
1. Cheyenne (5-3, LW 1) — The Desert Shields’ rough nonleague schedule is setting them up nicely for Sunset League play.
2. Desert Pines (0-2, LW 2) — Like their football, the Jaguars dropped the first two games of the season, but are expected to bounce back.
3. Sunrise Mountain (5-2, LW 3) — An early season test comes Thursday against Moapa Valley in Overton.
4. Chaparral (3-1, LW 5) — The Cowboys play their first road game Thursday at Sky Pointe.
5. Boulder City (7-3, LW 4) — The Eagles take on Virgin Valley on Thursday before taking a week off.
Class 2A
1. Democracy Prep (8-1, LW 1) — Will the Najeeb Muhammad injury hamper the Blue Knights?
2. Adelson School (3-2, LW 2) — The Lions can move to 3-2 in league play with a win at Mountain View on Thursday.
3. Needles (7-0, LW 4) — The Mustangs lost their undefeated streak, but are 6-0 against Arizona teams.
4. Lake Mead (3-4, LW 5) — The Eagles picked up a big road win against Needles on Tuesday.
5. The Meadows (3-3, LW 3) — Thursday’s game against Needles could have big implications down the road.
Class 1A
1. Pahranagat Valley (6-2, LW 1) — Only one game this week for the Panthers, who head to Wells on Friday.
2. Spring Mountain (3-2, LW 2) — The Golden eagles open their league schedule against Word of Life on Friday.
3. Beatty (2-0, LW 3) — The Hornets host GV Christian on Thursday.
4. Liberty Baptist (3-0, LW 5) — The Knights will keep climbing up the rankings if they keep winning.
5. Word of Life (1-2, LW 4) — The Eagles play their first league game Friday, traveling to play Spring Mountain.
