GIRLS BASKETBALL: Taeha Pankey leads Legacy to overtime win

Taeha Pankey had 28 points, including all six of Legacy’s points in overtime, as the Longhorns edged visiting Arbor View 61-60 on Monday night.

Pankey’s 3-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation tied the game at 55 and forced the extra period.

Rory Carter added seven points for Legacy.

Autumn Westmoreland scored 22 points to pace Arbor View. Alaysia Reed added 12 points for the Aggies, and teammates Kalli Hosier and Madison Cvijanovich each scored 10.

Shadow Ridge 75, Cimarron-Memorial 69 — At Cimarron, Lauren Calo scored 35 points as the Mustangs topped the Spartans in overtime.

Isis Triplett scored 15 points and Caitlyn Covington scored 14 points for Shadow Ridge, which trailed 25-17 at the half.

Niara Smith led Cimarron with 25 points. Tasia Moore added 18 points, and teammate Amoura Whitney scored 14 for the Spartans.

Green Valley 64, Coronado 56 — At Coronado, Samara Miller led all scorers with 22 points as the Gators beat the Cougars.

Brooke Haney added 21 points for Green Valley.

Haley Tyrell led Coronado with 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Payton Caci added 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Cougars.

Faith Lutheran 43, Palo Verde 33 — At Palo Verde, Bryanna Neagle scored 13 points to lead the Crusaders past the Panthers.

Madison Bocobo added nine points for Faith Lutheran, which outscored Palo Verde 24-12 in the second half.

Kedrena Johnson led the Panthers with 14 points.

Western 59, Sunrise Mountain 35 — At Sunrise Mountain, Ja’Moni Brown scored 24 points to lead the Warriors in a rout of the Miners.

Millani Johnson scored 13 points, and Adrianna Jones added 12 points for Western, which outscored the Miners 22-11 in the second quarter to take control of the game.

Trinity Lavoll scored 15 points to lead Sunrise Mountain.

Cheyenne 71, Mojave 36 — At Cheyenne, Ejanae Coopwood had 24 points and nine rebounds as the Desert Shields rolled past the Rattlers.

Starr Hawkins added 14 points, nine rebounds and seven steals, and Alaxiah Moore had 14 points and eight rebounds for Cheyenne. The Desert Shields outscored Mojave 24-4 in the second quarter to take a 36-21 halftime lead.

Desert Pines 41, Pahrump Valley 25 — At Pahrump, See’Airrah Evans-Collins scored 11 points to lead the Jaguars past the Trojans.

Heaven Heacock added 10 points for Desert Pines, which took control of the game with a 17-7 second-quarter run.

Bethany Calvert scored 10 points to lead Pahrump.

Basic 44, Silverado 41 — At Silverado, the Wolves edged the Skyhawks.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
