BOYS SOCCER: Mario Diaz’s hat trick sparks Las Vegas

Mario Diaz scored three goals Thursday, and Las Vegas’ boys soccer team shut out Canyon Springs, 3-0.
Angel Cano, Roberto Sotomayor and Fernando Gomez each had an assist for the Wildcats.
Chris Sosa earned the shutout.
Arbor View 1, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, the Aggies benefited from an own goal to defeat the Mustangs.
Gabe Sano and Brendan Rapp combined to post the shutout.
Palo Verde 3, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Presten Manthey and Anthony Kaskie each had a goal and an assist to lead the Panthers past the Longhorns.
Bryan Montoya added a goal for Palo Verde, and goalkeeper Levi Lord made five saves to get the shutout.
Mojave 1, Desert Pines 1 — At Mojave, the Rattlers and Jaguars played to a draw.
Adrian Perez scored for Mojave. Joel Sanchez had the goal for Desert Pines.
Sunrise Mountain 12, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Musio Jimenez-Vazquez had four goals and four assists to power the Miners past the Desert Shields.
Jose Arreola added three goals and an assist, and Ivan Balbuena had a goal and two assists for Sunrise Mountain, which led 5-0 at the half.
Jonso Jimenez-Vasquez added a goal and an assist, and Eric Guillen-Parente, Caesar Ortiz and Angel Arreola each scored a goal for the Miners.
Western 2, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Western, Juan Estrada had a goal and an assist as the Warriors blanked the Trojans.
David Ginsburg also scored for the Warriors, and Leonel Acosta-Trevizo had an assist.
Goalkeeper Jose Anaya recorded one save in the shutout.
