HEAD OF THE CLASS

ARBOR VIEW — Boys bowler Marco Ramirez-Buckles rolled a 697 series to finish second in the Division I individual state tournament. Girls bowler Meagan Huggins qualified for the individual state tournament and bowled a 526 series in the final round.

CORONADO — Girls basketball player Haley Tyrell had 16 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three assists in a 47-28 win over Basic.

DESERT OASIS — Boys basketball player Taiga Miyano was 9-for-11 on 3-pointers and 19-for-21 from the free-throw line, scoring a total of 50 points in three victories. Girls basketball player Mikala Kirby had a total of 30 points and eight assists in league wins over Cimarron-Memorial and Bonanza.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Girls basketball player Madison Bocobo had a total of 29 points, four steals and seven assists in two games.

LEGACY — Girls bowler Maraya Gamon qualified for the Division I individual state tournament and placed ninth with a 469 series.

MOJAVE — Boys bowler Trevor Maple placed second in the Division I-A individual state tournament with a 639 series. Flag football player Leilani Limtiaco had seven catches for 154 yards and three touchdowns, threw a touchdown pass and intercepted four passes in wins over Western and Spring Valley.

PALO VERDE — Girls basketball player Brooklyn Cruz had 25 points in a 73-65 win over Desert Pines and averaged 15 points in three victories. Boys basketball player Ryan Vogelei came off the bench to have eight points, four rebounds and three steals in an 85-84 win over Desert Pines.

ROUND MOUNTAIN — Girls basketball player Alyssa Hanks had 26 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Adelson School and 25 points and eight rebounds in a victory over Pahranagat Valley.

SIERRA VISTA — Boys bowler Joseph Ongtawco had a 542 series to place fourth in the Division I-A individual state tournament. Girls bowler Leeann Reyes placed sixth in the Division I-A individual state tournament with a 502 series.

SILVERADO — Girls basketball player Jillian Kinsella had 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists against Shadow Ridge. Boys basketball player Kris Coe averaged 19.5 points and 10 assists in two games.

SPRING VALLEY — Girls basketball player Essence Booker averaged 21.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over Cheyenne and Faith Lutheran.
