BOWLING: Dobbs, Diamondbacks win Sunset boys title

Matthew Dobbs rolled a 701 series Thursday to lead Desert Oasis' boys bowling team to a 7-2 victory over Shadow Ridge in the Sunset Region final at The Orleans.
The Diamondbacks had a 2,292 series, including an 801 game. Shadow Ridge had a team total of 2,099.
Desert Oasis will face Liberty in the Division I state final at 3 p.m. Friday.
Liberty defeated Las Vegas 9-0 to capture the Sunrise title.
Terrance Rock had a 700 series, including a 258 game, to lead the Patriots. Rock's 258 tied for the best individual game of the tournament.
Liberty's 2,407 series was the best of the tournament, and included an 832 game and an 826 game.
GIRLS
Centennial posted the top girls series of the day with a 1,974 and beat Arbor View 9-0 to win the Sunset Region title.
The Bulldogs, who had a 663 game and a 1,974 series, face Foothill for the Division I state title at 3 p.m. Friday.
Foothill captured the Sunrise Region crown with a 9-0 victory over Valley.
Foothill rolled a 1,915 series, with a top game of 642.
