TENNIS: Crawford, Hansel help Foothill boys stun Coronado

Billy Crawford and Tristin Hansel each went 3-0 in singles Tuesday as host Foothill's boys tennis team stunned 10-time defending Sunrise Region champion Coronado, 10-8.

The Falcons handed the Cougars their first regular-season loss since Aug. 31, 2010.

Bishop Gorman 16, Palo Verde 2 At Gorman, Sam Sholeff and Skylar Davidson each went 3-0 in singles as the Gaels handed the six-time defending Sunset Region champions their first regular-season loss in more than nine years.

The doubles teams of Jack Silvestri and Grant Rogers, and Lucas Hammond and Cole Davidson each went 3-0 for Gorman.

Durango 10, Legacy 9 — At Durango, Nikola Zelenovic was 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Filip Bosnajak and Jovan Lubara went 3-0 as the Trailblazers nipped the Longhorns in a tiebreaker.

Each team won nine of the 18 regulation sets and each won three tiebreaker games, but Durango outscored Legacy, 33-31 in the tiebreakers to secure the win.

Devin Garrett and Hayden LeCates were 2-1 in doubles for Legacy.

Rancho 11, Eldorado 7 — At Rancho, the doubles teams of Anjana Dissanayaka and Andrew Alves, and Tanner Albright and Luis Moreno each went 3-0 to lead the Rams by the Sundevils.

Trevor Swain was 3-0 in singles for Eldorado.

Valley 10, Chaparral 8 — At Valley, Marty Heavey went 2-1 in singles, and the doubles team of Alex Gustilo and A.J. Duff went 2-1 as the Vikings held off the Cowboys.

Chaparral's Brandon Scott was 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Moises Salto and Ernesto Hernandez went 3-0 for the Cowboys.

The Meadows 12, Spring Valley 6 — At Spring Valley, Alex Lanzkowsky was 2-0 in singles as the Mustangs defeated the Grizzlies.

Joseph Coronel and Edward Rastgoo finished 2-1 in doubles for The Meadows, and teammate Nathaniel Van der Post went 2-1 in singles.

Spring Valley's Dando Fitamo and Vangeli Zimmerman were 3-0 in doubles, and Christopher Zimmerman was 2-1 in singles for the Grizzlies.

Desert Pines 12, Cimarron-Memorial 6 — At Cimarron, Oscar Murillo and Artemio Gonzalez each went 3-0 in singles to help the Jaguars defeat the Spartans.

Alfredo Murillo and Edgar Diaz were 3-0 in doubles for Desert Pines.

Green Valley 13, Basic 5 — At Green Valley, Mackay Boman was 2-0 in singles to lead the Gators over the Wolves.

Faith Lutheran 16, Sierra Vista 2 — At Darling Tennis Center, Jack Stevens was 2-0 in singles to help the Crusaders top the Mountain Lions.

Brandon Brighi and Matt Shuirman were 2-0 in doubles for Faith Lutheran.

Adelson School 16, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, Kobi Kenzo, Noah Ferber and Justin Kalb each finished 3-0 in singles as the Lions downed the Rattlers.

Clark 12, Western 0 — At Clark, the Chargers won by forfeit.

GIRLS

Palo Verde 10, Bishop Gorman 8 — At Gorman, Annie Walker was 3-0 in singles to help the Panthers nip the Gaels.

Alissa Till and Abby Lewis were 3-0 in doubles for Palo Verde.

Rancho 11, Eldorado 7 — At Rancho, the doubles teams of Britteney Domingo and Maiyah Norton, and Megan Sloan and Katrina Hutchinson each went 3-0 as the Rams downed the Sundevils.

Cheyenne Delicate and Shannon Brown each went 3-0 in singles for Eldorado.

Desert Pines 13, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Cimarron, Ashley Palacios was 3-0 in singles to guide the Jaguars to victory over the Spartans.

The doubles teams of Cassandra Bueno and Stephanie Aviles, and Shelly Alvarado and Carmen Garcia-Leon each finished 3-0 for Desert Pines.

Valley 13, Chaparral 5 — At Valley, Alexandra Jianu went 3-0 in singles as the Vikings downed the Cowboys.

Valley's doubles teams of Katie Streit and Alexandra Angelov, and Annelisa Laizure and Claire Angel each went 3-0, and the team of Deanine Dilworth and Sara Tegtmeyer was 2-0.

Faith Lutheran 13, Sierra Vista 5 — At Darling Tennis Center, Jayden Mattson and Michelle Reiss were 2-0 in doubles as the Crusaders topped the Mountain Lions.

Andrada Stancia was 3-0 in singles for Sierra Vista.

Coronado 14, Foothill 4 — At Foothill, Camille Solla and Jessica Duff went 2-0 in doubles to help the Cougars beat the Falcons.

Morgan Hawkins and Emily Campbell went 2-1 in doubles for Foothill.

Clark 14, Western 4 — At Clark, Alysandra Smith went 2-0 in singles to lead the Chargers past the Warriors.

Legacy 14, Durango 4 — At Durango, the doubles teams of Apoorva Chauhan and Katie Turner, and Ananya Chauhan and Loren Jensen both went 2-0 to lead the Longhorns past the Trailblazers.

Anne Jiang was 3-0 in singles for Durango.

The Meadows 17, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Anuja Daulat went 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Sonia Vohra and Sophie Isaacs was 3-0 as the Mustangs routed the Grizzlies.

Abbigail Klein went 2-0 in singles for The Meadows.

Green Valley 13, Basic 5 — At Green Valley, the Gators defeated the Wolves.

Mojave 12, Adelson School 0 — At Mojave, the Rattlers won by forfeit.
