Thornock, Lynx edge Mustangs in overtime

Cody Thornock's 2-yard run and 2-point conversion in overtime gave Lincoln County a 22-20 win over host The Meadows on Friday.

Thornock's third touchdown of the game gave Lincoln County (2-1, 2-1 Division III Southern League) a 22-14 lead.

Thayne Carlson's 10-yard TD run pulled the Mustangs (2-2, 1-1) within 22-20, but Jack Berkley's 2-point conversion pass to Max Hisatake was incomplete to end the game.

Thornock scored twice in the fourth quarter as the Lynx rallied from a 14-0 deficit. Thornock's 30-yard run made it 14-7 with 10:53 to play. He hauled in a 51-yard touchdown pass from Landon Smith with 1:08 to play to force overtime.
