FLAG FOOTBALL: Howie finds Nibarger on final play as Aggies slip by Mountain Lions

Taylor Howie’s touchdown pass to Haley Nibarger on the final play of the game Wednesday lifted Arbor View’s flag football team to a 24-19 win over visiting Sierra Vista.
The Aggies trailed 19-18 and got the ball at their own 20-yard line with 1 minute, 17 seconds to play before driving for the winning score.
Howie threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score for the Aggies. Nibarger caught five passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns, and Francesca D’Arienzo rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries for Arbor View.
Green Valley 28, Valley 27 — At Green Valley, Morgan Gibson threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns as the Gators edged the Vikings in overtime.
Jackie Cook, Tamara Grieves and Kaela Green each caught a TD pass for Green Valley, which also got a rushing score from Green.
Shadow Ridge 24, Cheyenne 12 — At Cheyenne, Joryan Brewer rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns and had a receiving TD to lift the Mustangs over the Desert Shields.
Alexia Murrietta finished 10 of 16 passing for 157 yards and a TD for Shadow Ridge, which led 12-6 at halftime.
Taylor Velarde had 10 rushes for 84 yards for Shadow Ridge.
Desert Pines 32, Rancho 24 — At Desert Pines, Mariyah Espinoza rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries to help the Jaguars top the Rams.
Melissa Benford tossed a touchdown pass, and Paola Espino returned an interception for a touchdown for Desert Pines.
Mayela Calvo scored two touchdowns, and Jazmin Marin and Siree Contreras each scored a touchdown for the Rams.
Palo Verde 37, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Daniesha Clayton rushed for three touchdowns, and Caitlyn Oxford threw three TD passes as the Panthers routed the Pirates.
Morgan Myers had two TD catches, and Amanda Drake hauled in another scoring pass for Palo Verde.
Las Vegas 26, Sunrise Mountain 6 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Wildcats downed the Miners.
Shyloh Lucero rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on eight carries for Sunrise Mountain.
Silverado 14, Canyon Springs 13 — At Canyon Springs, the Skyhawks nipped the Pioneers.
Tea Rivera tossed touchdown passes to Sydney Morris and Amaya Youngblood for Canyon Springs.
