Las Vegas Flag Football 2013-14 Capsule Preview

LAS VEGAS

Head coach: Erick Capetillo, second season

2012-13 record: 8-10 (7-7 Northeast, tied for fourth)

Returning letter winners: 10

Top players: QB Kali Brockett (Sr.), RB Mackenzie McCoy (Jr.), WR/S Danielle Ruesch (Jr.), RB/DB Cierra Turner (Sr.), DB Latda Phinimakhat (Sr.)

Outlook: Brockett and Ruesch connected for eight touchdown passes last seasons and lead a list of returnees who should have the Wildcats in good shape both offensively and defensively.

Capetillo also expects McCoy and Turner to handle the bulk of the carries on offense and Phinimakhat to be among the leaders on defense.

“Our core group should lead us early in the season,” Capetillo said. “Hopefully we can start the year clicking on all cylinders.”
