Bear ignores woman’s request to stop eating kayak — VIDEO

On a recent solo kayak trip from Ketchikan to Petersburg in Alaska, a woman's kayak was attacked by a bear. The woman, Mary Maley, learned very quickly bears will not hear (or care for) a human's pleas to stop attacking.

In a video posted to YouTube Wednesday, Maley is heard yelling at the bear repeatedly after threatening it with pepper spray.

"Bear! Bear! You're breaking it! You're breaking my kayak! Why are you breaking my kayak?! Bear! Stop!" she's heard yelling.

Does the bear stop?

No.

Maley said she heard the assault on her transportation while eating lunch after taking her things to a cabin. Understandably, she has a complete meltdown, thinking she'd be stranded in Berg Bay with no way to carry on her journey. She sounds truly upset the bear won't understand her when she asks what it's doing there in September.

The bear continued attempting to eat her kayak for another 10 minutes, leaving Maley with no other choice but to swim out to a ship in the bay to be rescued.

Check it out above, and wonder yourself, why is the bear breaking her kayak?
