Aerial footage shows 50 lane-wide traffic jam in Beijing — VIDEO

If you think your commute in Las Vegas is bad, try getting stuck in a traffic jam with thousands of other people in Beijing.

Aerial footage from the incredible gridlock on Tuesday afternoon was taken at the end of National Day celebration, when holidaymakers made their journey home through Beijing's toll stop via a 50-lane-wide motorway.

The new checkpoint, on the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway, along with bottlenecking led to the massive jam, the Daily Mail reported. Hundreds of thousands of motorists clogged the 1,412-mile freeway and were caught up in the toll for as far as the eye (or in this case, drone) could see.

Tourism officials estimated about 750 million Chinese would be traveling between Oct. 1 and 7, or about half the nation's population.

Check it out in the video above.
