Rebels 10th after second round of men’s golf regional

The UNLV men’s golf team struggled with wet and windy conditions in posting a 21-over-par 309 on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional in Illinois.

The Rebels are 10th of 14 teams and must finish in the top five after today’s final round to advance to the NCAA Championships in Hutchinson, Kan.

UNLV is at 41-over 617 after two rounds. Southern California is fifth at 594.

Alabama-Birmingham leads at 584, followed by Illinois (585), Clemson (591) and California (593)

Sophomore Zane Thomas is UNLV’s top individual in 29th place at 8-over 152.
