UNLV women’s golf team tumbles to 14th in final round of regional

The No. 17-ranked UNLV women’s golf team shot a final-round 29-over-par 313 in the NCAA Stanford Regional to finish at 56-over 908 and in 14th place in the 18-team field Saturday in Stanford, California.

No. 2 Southern California and No. 11 Stanford tied atop the leaderboard at 4-over 856 - 19 strokes clear of the field.

UNLV junior Alexandra Kaui shot 1-over 72 in the final round to finish at 2-over 215 to tie for ninth place in the 96-player field.

Other Rebels included freshman Elizabeth Prior (15-over 228, tied for 57th), sophomore Harley Dubsky (231, tied for 70th), freshman Kaylee Benton (235, tied for 79th) and sophomore Mackenzie Raim (235, tied for 79th).

UNLV was tied for 13th after the first round and tied for 10th after the second.

UC Davis’ Andrea Wong and Virginia’s Elizabeth Szokol shared the top score at 4-under 209, and Wong won medalist honors in a playoff.
