Gunshots give ‘Repo Games’ dose of reality

You couldn't ask for a better plug for a new reality show.

While filming in North Las Vegas on Monday night, the production crew of "Repo Games" was the target of an angry gunman who mistakenly thought his vehicle was being repossessed.

The show debuted Tuesday night on Spike TV.

North Las Vegas police Sgt. Tim Bedwell said no one was hurt in the incident, which began about 9:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of Vigilante Court, near Centennial Parkway and Losee Road.

Bedwell said Carlos Enrique Barron, 40, stormed out of his home and got into a physical altercation with a crew member driving a production van.

Barron told police he taught in the Clark County School District, Bedwell said.

The Nevada Department of Education's website lists a Carlos E. Barron as a licensed teacher since July 2004. Officials with the Clark County School District could not be reached Tuesday afternoon to say at which school Barron taught.

In Monday's incident, Barron's vehicle was not being repossessed. The crew actually was looking for another car on that street, Bedwell said.

But Barron pulled a handgun on the crew and began firing, Bedwell said.

Police said they believe some shots were fired at the crew and some were fired in the air.

When officers arrived, Barron barricaded himself inside the home. Just after midnight Tuesday, he escaped through a back window and was taken down by police dogs.

Barron was treated at North Vista Hospital for minor injuries.

He was booked into the North Las Vegas jail on charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing a police officer.
