UNLV swimmers 28th after second day of NCAA Championships

The UNLV men’s swimming and diving team participated in four events Friday and is in 28th place after the second day of the NCAA Championships in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Rebels’ 200-yard medley relay team of juniors Henrique Machado and Dillon Virva, freshman Boris Kulizhnikov and sophomore Or Sabatier placed 21st in 1 minute, 26.69 seconds.

Virva placed 40th in the 100 butterfly in 47.24 seconds, junior Tom Paco-Pedroni was 36th in the 200 freestyle (1:36.41), and Machado took 32nd in the 100 backstroke (47.16).

Texas tops the team standings with 399 points, followed by California (275) and Michigan (210). UNLV, which has 12 points, will participate in three events today.
