2017 Explorer SUV a popular choice at Friendly Ford
The 2017 Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle is considered an excellent choice when traveling in rugged country.
“This vehicle has many available drive modes,” said sales consultant Logan Meyer, who hails from Helena, Montana, and is familiar with tough territory. “That’s important, whether you’re talking about Montana, Nevada or Utah.”
“The four modes — on vehicles with intelligent four-wheel drive — include Mud and Rut, Sand and Snow, Gravel and Grass and the normal mode for everyday driving. “
However, it’s the ride that is really impressive, according to Meyer “You don’t have to sacrifice anything to get the capabilities to go into the snowy mountains or have fun in the desert,” he said. “It maintains that capability while also having a soft and compliant ride and an extremely quiet cab.
“The standard 3.5-liter V-6 comes with variable camshaft timing,” he continued, “and it delivers 290 horsepower while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency with 24 highway and 17 city fuel mileage ratings.”
Other engines include the 2.3-liter Ecoboost with 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost with a class-leading 365 horsepower.
“Both Ecoboost engines use the design efficiency of an engine intended to be turbo-charged from the start,” Meyer said. “Ford is untouchable when it comes to engines.”
The interior is also another strong selling point including available heated and cooled seats, and Ford Sync systems which links your phone via Blue Tooth to make phone calls and play media.
“The ’17 Explorer has all of the comforts you have come to expect along with the rugged capabilities of an SUV,” Meyer said.
Meyer has sold several of the 2017 Ford Explorers recently.
“I sold an Explorer Sport to a family which really needed the room of an Explorer,” he said. “Yet another key to the success of the Explorer is the fact that they all have seating for seven.”
