Findlay Toyota employees kick-start giant toy drive
Employees of Findlay Toyota didn’t waste any time collecting Christmas gifts in a teamwork effort with the Nevada Highway Patrol and KTNV-TV, Channel 13.
The gathering of gifts during the 13 Days of Giving in the dealership’s showroom at the Valley Automall grew quickly following a jump-start effort by managers Rick Glenn, John Barr, Stephanie Bernas and Gay Otey.
Other dealership employees who jumped in to help kick off the gift drive included James Cobbs, Mike Stehli, Jacob Henn, Greg Hadges, Cong Nguyen, Tony Tabaku, Kody Grady, Rob Martin, T.J. Summers, Kirk Alexander, Anthony Velardi, Alex Paz, Carlos Aldanese and Erick Ludwick.
The load of gifts was picked up Wednesday for distribution at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
“During this time of the year, the warmth and the goodwill feeling something like this gives you by helping people who are less fortunate is beyond explanation,” said dealership General Manager John Barr, who has been with Findlay Toyota for about 18 years.
Bernas said dealership employees and customers teamed to collect the gifts in less than a week.
“This store works together for benefits like this,” said Bernas, who has been with Findlay Toyota for eight years. “When you tie our customers into a cause like this, the end result is a great teamwork effort. It’s benefits like this that really tug at your heart.”
Findlay Toyota is part of Findlay Automotive Group founded in 1961 by the late Pete Findlay, whose son, Cliff, now oversees 28 automobile dealerships in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Idaho and Oregon.
The dealership located at 7733 Eastgate Road in the Valley Automall is the top-selling Toyota dealership in the Denver Region. With more than 1,300 Toyota dealerships in the country, Findlay Toyota has won the President’s Cabinet Award for three straight years.
