Herbst Gaming general counsel Sean Higgins resigns
Herbst Gaming General Counsel Sean Higgins has resigned from the bankrupt casino operator and slot machine route company. He will join the Las Vegas-based law firm of Gordon Silver next week.
In an email to friends and colleagues Tuesday, Higgins said it was a difficult decision to leave Herbst Gaming after 17 years. He also served as general counsel for the Terrible Herbst Oil Co., which is a separate operation.
“Over the years, while working at Herbst Gaming and Terrible Herbst, it was my honor and pleasure to provide legal advice and counseling to both the companies and the Herbst family,” Higgins said.
Higgins said he would continue to handle legal matters for Herbst Gaming, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year. The company will be taken over by its senior lenders.
