Poker players eliminated from ‘The Amazing Race’

Poker player Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle busted out of the reality television series, “The Amazing Race.”

On Sunday night’s episode, the female poker players were eliminated in sixth place from the 12-team race around the world after they couldn’t complete either of two roadblock tasks set up for contestants in The Netherlands. Neither could play a version of golf nor bring a bell at the top of a tower.
 
The reality television show took the contestants to such locations as Tokyo, Vietnam, Laos, Dubai and The Netherlands.

“We don’t want to give up on the race, but we do not foresee that we will be able to finish this challenge with this weather,” Michelle told the show’s host, Phil Keoghan.

“Tiffany’s been my hero this entire race,” Ho said. “I see her as completely invincible, but I have to remember that at the end of day we can only do so much.”

Michelle and Ho are two of the top female professional poker players on the circuit.

Michelle, 25, finished in 17th place at the 2008 World Series of Poker’s main event, collecting $334,534, the most money ever won by a woman in the competition.

Ho, 26, is currently ranked 33rd in poker’s Top 100 Women’s All Time Money list She finished 38th in the 2007 World Series of Poker main event.

In "The Amazing Race," teams of two race around the world, completing various tasks along the way. The winning team collects $1 million.
