Shuffle Master facing new antitrust lawsuit

Shuffle Master Gaming, which recently settled a long-running antitrust lawsuit with one gaming equipment rival, is facing a new legal matter.

Las Vegas-based TableMax Gaming has filed a federal patent infringement lawsuit against Las Vegas-based Shuffle Master, saying the table game maker is wrongly using three patents in its Table Master electronic table game.

TableMax, which uses its patents in conjunction with its own multi-player electronic gambling devices, wants Shuffle Master to stop marketing the games and is seeking unspecified damages and fees.

"We previously raised our infringement concerns with Shuffle Master and had to file this suit to have them properly addressed,” TableMax Chief Executive Officer Stephen Crystal said in a statement.
