In seven-month period, state gaming tax haul increases
Nevada’s gaming tax collections are up 1.25 percent for the first seven months of the fiscal year despite two straight declining collection periods.
Through January, the state has collected almost $350 million in gaming taxes.
The Gaming Control Board said Thursday it collected almost $30 million in gaming taxes in January, based on December’s gaming revenues. The figure was a decline of 10.4 percent from a year ago.
The double-digit-percentage decline followed a 12.7 percent drop based on November’s gaming revenues.
However, the state gaming tax collections increased 24 percent, 4 percent and 22 percent in the preceding three months.
