State attorney general to unveil mortgage relief program
Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto will unveil the “Home Again” homeowner relief program during a press conference Monday at the Grant Sawyer Building.
The new statewide program initiated by Masto is designed to help distressed homeowners in Nevada who are facing foreclosure, seeking loan modification or have already lost their homes to foreclosure.
The program is a partnership between the AG’s office, Financial Guidance Center, Nevada Legal Services and Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.
Masto announced approval of $11.7 million in funding for the first year of a three-year program estimated to cost $33.5 million, part of the National Mortgage Settlement.
The homeowner relief program will help Nevadans by creating a “one-stop” call center that will route people to housing counselors and determine what state or federal assistance may be available.
