Nevada gasoline prices on the downslide

Nevada’s average gasoline price is slowly sliding back down for the fourth week in a row.

AAA statistics released Tuesday show the average price is $3.74 per gallon, slightly higher than the national mark of $3.58.

AAA officials say the decreasing prices come as the cost of crude oil goes down, and because companies have completed their switchover to summer-blend gasoline.

The state’s most expensive gasoline is in Sparks, where the average price is $3.87 per gallon. Carson City is on the low end, with an average gasoline price of $3.69 per gallon.

Casper, Wyo. claims the nation’s cheapest gasoline, with an average price of $3.35 per gallon. Wailuku, Hawaii has the most expensive gas, with an average price of $4.39 per gallon.
