Perks for pets: Vdara launches upscale services for dogs
A trendy Las Vegas condo hotel is expanding its services to four-legged companions and their owners who are looking for a relaxing vacation on the Strip.
Vdara Hotel & Spa, at 2600 W. Harmon Ave., launched a program July 22 called Vdog, which allows guests to book deluxe suites for either one dog up to 70 pounds or two dogs with a combined weight of 70 pounds.
“This is an ongoing program. Dogs were allowed on property to residences, and now we’re expanding the program to all guests,” said Suzie Rugh, public relations manager at MGM Resorts International. “The hotel has had some bookings and people are showing excitement but it is still very early and hard to gauge (how the public is responding to this new program).”
Guests with dogs are required to pay an extra $50 a night per reservation and a $75 per stay nonrefundable cleaning fee.
The deluxe dog suite reservation includes waste bags, dog treats, an in-suite dog dining menu, bowls and crates, and 24-hour access to a dog park with a walking path.
For dogs, three dining menu options are available: Seared filet with sweet potatoes, green beans and yellow squash; baked chicken with whole grain brown rice; and beef sautéed with vegetables and orzo pasta. Prices vary from $7 to $17 depending on the menu item and portion size.
