The Clark County coroner’s office Wednesday identified a 20-year-old who was fatally stabbed in northeast Las Vegas early Saturday.

Melvin Rodriguez of Las Vegas died of a stab wound of the chest. His death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner.

Police said Rodriguez was dropped off at North Vista Hospital around 4 a.m. and later died. North Las Vegas Police Department officers determined that Rodriguez was stabbed in the 1100 block of North Pecos Road, near Osage Avenue.

No one was in custody as of Wednesday afternoon.

A GoFundMe page was created to raise money for Rodriguez’s funeral expenses.

A Nevada prisoner is accused of addressing letters to a federal judge in Las Vegas, threatening to send someone to kidnap and torture the judicial officer and “have my people kill whatever you hold dearly first,” according to a criminal complaint.

A DUI suspect accused of killing two pedestrians at an east Las Vegas bus stop emitted a “strong odor” of alcohol and told officers that she thought she had suffered a seizure and didn’t remember the crash, according to her Metropolitan Police Department arrest report.
