Woman pleads guilty in New Year’s Day arson

A 33-year-old woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of first-degree arson for setting a fire on New Year's Day that displaced 40 people and did an estimated $200,000 in damage to an apartment complex.

Authorities said Tameca Taylor set her bed on fire after a confrontation with her boyfriend at their apartment at 1100 Center St. in Henderson.

Taylor originally faced nearly 20 felony counts. A sentencing hearing was set for June 7. She faces probation or up to 15 years in prison. She is being held on $20,000 bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
