Las Vegas police are investigating a failed attempt to drag an ATM off its foundation early Wednesday at a bank on the west side of the valley.

Multiple officers were observed at the scene of the Wells Fargo, 5410 W. Charleston Blvd., shortly after 4 a.m. A truck was in the parking lot, doors still open, near a damaged ATM portal.

Las Vegas police Lt. David Gordon said police were called to the bank at 4:21 a.m. for a “grand larceny of an ATM.”

Gordon said unknown individuals dislodged an ATM from its foundation using a pickup truck.

“The suspect(s) fled the scene leaving the truck and the ATM machine at the scene,” Gordon said in a text message.

Gordon said officers with K-9 units searched the area but did not locate any suspects. Detectives are investigating.

A spokesman for Wells Fargo referred questions about the crime to Las Vegas police.
