Las Vegas police arrest 2 men in connection with south valley robbery

Las Vegas police have arrested two men in connection with a Monday morning robbery in the south valley.

Jonathan Mika, 34, and Dominic Maratita, 41, both of Las Vegas, were arrested Tuesday without incident, police said. Both suspects were booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where they face multiple charges, including multiple counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and kidnapping with a deadly weapon.

Just after 4 a.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of Sierra Stone Lane for a report of a residential robbery, police said. Residents were inside the home when three suspects used a ruse to lure one resident, a juvenile, outside.

Once outside, the suspects confronted the juvenile resident with a firearm and forced the juvenile back inside the home, police said. Once inside, the suspects tied up the remaining residents, took items and fled.

During the investigation, detectives found a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle near West Warm Springs Road and South Durango Drive and took the driver into custody. The Metropolitan Police Department’s SWAT team served a search warrant at a nearby location where the second suspect was taken into custody.

A majority of the stolen items were recovered, police said.

Detectives are looking to identify a third suspect associated with this incident. The outstanding suspect can be described only as an unknown race male.

Anyone with information on the third suspect’s whereabouts or identity is urged to contact the South Central Area Command Investigations Section at 702- 828-8313 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
