Las Vegas police say robberies at 2 restaurants early Tuesday appear related

Two 24-hour restaurants were robbed early Tuesday morning, and a Las Vegas police spokeswoman said the crimes appear to be related.

The first robbery happened at 3:15 a.m. at Denny’s, 8000 W. Sahara Ave., near Cimarron Road. Two men entered the business, made motions suggesting they were armed and displayed what appeared to be a handgun, Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

She said the men took property from patrons and fled in a light-colored, newer-model vehicle.

A second similar robbery by men with similar descriptions happened about 3:40 a.m. at Tacos Mexico, 1800 Las Vegas Blvd. South, near Sahara Avenue.
