Police need help identifying armed robbery suspects
Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with an early September armed robbery.
Just before 5 a.m. on Sept. 1, officers responded to the 5900 block of Bromley Avenue, near South Jones Boulevard, to investigate a reported robbery, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.
Police said two men approached a man seated in a vehicle, and one opened the door of the vehicle and pressed a pistol into the man’s neck. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet, phone and ATM personal identification number, police said.
After the robbery, one of the men went to a nearby hardware store at Washington Avenue and Decatur Boulevard and withdrew “hundreds of dollars” from the ATM, Metro said.
Both suspects were described by police as black men, each about 5 feet, 8 inches tall. The first suspect weighed about 150 pounds and was last seen wearing dark clothing, including a black beanie, police said. The second man was last seen wearing a dark shirt with a white design, black pants and white shoes, Metro said.
Police said anyone with information can contact the investigation section for Metro’s Bolden Area Command at 702-828-3851, or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
No other information was immediately available.
