1 person stabbed at downtown Las Vegas apartment complex

One person was detained in a stabbing near downtown Las Vegas Monday morning, police said.

Just before 6 a.m., police received a call about a stabbing in an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Lewis Avenue, near the intersection of North Bruce Street and East Charleston Boulevard, Metro spokesman Michael Rodriguez said.

The stabbing victim was taken to University Medical Center, Rodriguez said. Police did not know the extent of the victim’s injuries or condition.

Metro had located a “possible weapon in the complex,” Rodriguez said.

Police said the person who was detained may live in the same complex as the victim.
