Two hospitalized in stabbing at Walmart in Las Vegas

Two people were taken to University Medical Center on Tuesday following a stabbing at a Walmart Supercenter, according to Las Vegas police and a Walmart spokesperson.

According to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department, the stabbing was reported just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 4500 block of West Charleston Boulevard, east of South Decatur Boulevard.

In a statement sent to the Review-Journal Tuesday evening, a Walmart spokeswoman said the company is “working closely with police throughout this investigation.”

The spokeswoman confirmed that the incident happened at the Walmart Supercenter store at 4505 W. Charleston Blvd. A suspect was taken into custody, according to Metro.

The two people who were transported to the hospital had non-life-threatening injuries, Metro said.
