Bradley Cooper to appear in first episode of ‘Limitless’ TV series

LOS ANGELES — Another A-lister is coming to TV.

Bradley Cooper will appear in the first episode of CBS’ new fall drama “Limitless,” based on the 2011 feature film, in which Cooper starred. Pending on the Academy Award-nominated actor’s busy schedule, he may also recur throughout the series.

CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler made the announcement Wednesday morning at a New York City press breakfast, before the network’s upfront presentation.

Cooper serves as an exec producer on the series, which Tassler described as an “action-packed, fast-paced thrill-ride.”

He will reprise his role from the original movie, as Eddie Mora, a man who discovers a mysterious drug NZT, which allows him to learn faster and recall memories from his past.

Jake McDorman, who appeared in Cooper’s record-breaking film “American Sniper,” plays Brian Finch, who newly comes across NZT and is coerced into using his new drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI.

“Dexter” alum Jennifer Carpenter is the female lead in CBS’ “Limitless,” hailing from CBS TV Studios and Relativity Media. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci exec produce with Cooper, original film director Neil Berger, Craig Sweeny, Todd Phillips, Heather Kadin, Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley and Tom Forman. Marc Webb directed the pilot.

Before Cooper broke into Oscar territory, he starred as Will Tippin on Jennifer Garner’s ABC thriller “Alias,” in addition to recurring on other series. This summer, he will reprise another one of his film roles in Netflix’s adaptation of “Wet Hot American Summer.”

“Limitless” airs Tuesdays this fall on CBS.
