Gunman in holdup of sports memorabilia dealers testifies Simpson told him to draw weapon

A gunman in the hotel room holdup of two sports memorabilia dealers testified this afternoon that O.J. Simpson told him to draw his weapon as they entered the room.

"Mr. Simpson asked me to show my weapon and look menacing," Michael McClinton said.

McClinton said he kept his gun drawn and shouted orders throughout the incident.

This morning, lead detective Andy Caldwell testified Las Vegas police worried that O.J. Simpson was trying to influence witnesses during their investigation of a hotel room hold up.

"He’s trying to affect the outcome of the case," Caldwell said.

He cited recorded calls made by Simpson in which the hall of fame running back acknowledged talking to a victim, Alfred Beardsley, and Clarence Stewart, who is a co-defendant in the case.
