DINING: Cancer benefits, Halloween stuff and more

You can still eat or drink for the cure, with numerous businesses offering deals through Monday, (Oct. 31), which is the end of Breast Cancer Month.

STK Las Vegas at The Cosmopolitan, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South, will give $2 for every PINK-tini sold to the American Cancer Society of Southern Nevada.

Elements Kitchen & Martini Bar, 4950 S. Rainbow Blvd., is featuring three pink-inspired martinis for $10 each and will donate $2 for every one sold to Susan G. Komen For the Cure Southern Nevada.

The Cupcakery, which has three locations in the valley, is donating $1 for every chocolate or vanilla Tickle Me Pink cupcake sold to Komen of Southern Nevada.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., has introduced The Stiletto as part of its “5 for $6 until 7” menu; proceeds will benefit the Avon Foundation for Women Breast Cancer Crusade.

And local outlets of Panera Bread are donating 10 cents for every Pink Ribbon Bagel or $1 for every Power of Pink Bakers Dozen Bagels sold to breast-cancer charities. …

In Halloween news:

Kids 12 and younger can get a free Scary Face Pancake at valley IHOPs between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Friday (Oct. 28).

Total Wine & More, which has stores at 501 N. Stephanie St. in Henderson and 730 S. Rampart Blvd., is offering free tastings of its Halloween-themed wines from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Every Halloween reveler who visits a Chipotle outlet between 6 p.m. and closing on Monday (Oct. 31), dressed in a costume to represent the family farm, will be able to get a burrito, order of tacos, salad or burrito bowl for $2, and proceeds will be donated to Farm Aid and the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.

Doughnut shops also have gotten into the Halloween spirit. Krispy Kreme is offering jack-o’-lantern, spider web and Halloween sprinkles doughnuts through Monday and pumpkin-spice doughnuts through Nov. 27. And Dunkin Donuts brings back it Boston Scream doughnut through Monday.

And the National Restaurant Association reports that one in five homes will order restaurant takeout or delivery on Monday. For younger adults and families with children, the numbers rise to 33 percent and 28 percent, respectively. …

A Cooking Fiesta class is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (Oct. 29) at El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The class, which will cover guacamole with crab and pomegranate, shrimp and sweet corn quesadillas and more, is $25, plus tax and tip. To register, call 258-1211. …
