I feel a little guilty, especially at this time of year (and see Mediterranean diet story), telling my readers where to find butter — whipped butter, in this case. But everything in moderation, right? So, for Cathryn Gonzalez and everyone else who wants to know, Myra Silverstein, Karen LaCognata, Linda White, Claudia Wolt and Barbara Schwartz found Challenge whipped butter at Albertsons and Daphne L. Smith found Land O’Lakes and Challenge at Smith’s. …

For Donna Anderson, Nancy A. Nolette emailed that she found Idaho Spuds candy bars at Central Market at 1101 Arizona St. in Boulder City, and Barbara Morris wrote to recommend www.Candycrate.com (800-849-0772). …

For Earle Malkin, who’s looking for canned lychees, Bob Ritenour emailed that he gets them at SF Supermarket at 5115 Spring Mountain Road, Thong Bartlett and Kristine Segura recommended 99 Ranch Market at 4155 Spring Mountain Road, Bartlett also recommended 168 Market at 3459 S. Jones Blvd., Segura also recommended Seafood City Supermarket at 3890 S. Maryland Parkway and Marilyn Diyco suggested Kababayan Po Market at 9560 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson. And for Sandy Sherlock, who’s looking for Italian green frying peppers, Elisabeth Petika emailed that she planted a seedling in April that was a prolific producer from May through November. She said to look for cubanelle pepper plants, which she has seen at Plant World and Lowe’s. …

More on Polish sausage: Judy Cvetkovic reported finding it at Sunflower Farmers Market at 3365 E. Tropicana Ave. (there’s another Sunflower at 4020 S. Rainbow Blvd.) and Ron Lutz, owner of The Butcher Block at 7625 S. Rainbow Blvd., emailed that he makes it, too …
