Readers offer ideas on finding corned beef

Reader Bob Sullivan is looking for restaurants that plan to serve corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day, and already we have several suggestions for him.

"For the last 14 years ... I make a beeline" for Jerry's Famous Coffee Shop at Jerry's Nugget, 1821 Las Vegas Blvd. North, faxed John "The Big Kahuna" Taylor, who said he worked as a sous chef there in 1970 and the corned beef is "always the same ... fork-tender" and served with cabbage, potatoes, steamed carrots, soup or salad, and breads.

Valerie Weinberg suggested Johnny Mac's at 842 S. Boulder Highway in Henderson, noting that "not only is it the best, it's the special every Tuesday night as well." "Buffalo Bob" Rusnock also suggested Johnny Mac's. Dave Levesque recommended Kavanaugh's Irish Pub & Grill at 3200 W. Ann Road in North Las Vegas, and Brian S. Petrie, food and beverage manager at Ichabods Restaurant & Lounge, 3300 E. Flamingo Road, said he'll be serving corned beef and cabbage and several other St. Patrick's Day specials. ...
