Readers sniff out Limburger cheese
No doubt about it, Limburger cheese stinks — a drawback that may explain why it’s getting more difficult to find. But its unique flavor appeals to plenty of people, and a few readers have found sources for Honorene Unseitig.
Tita Keliipio reported finding Honey Creek brand at Food 4 Less at 1301 S. Boulder Highway in Henderson, adding that it’s “easy to miss” along a side wall of the cheese section near the brie. Mary Sherigan e-mailed that she buys Amish Limburger from Williams Cheese Co. in Linwood, Mich., which can be reached at www.WilliamsCheese.com or (800) 968-4492. And Chet Frederick recommended the Chalet Cheese Co-Op in Monroe, Wis.; a spokesman there said the cheese can be ordered by calling (608) 325-6311 before 8:30 a.m. weekdays. …
