Sea Vegas making a splash at Bally’s

Given the pop cultural pedigree of Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Sea Thai restaurant — you may have seen it in "Sex and the City" — the lights of Las Vegas and Sea Vegas seem perfect for one another.

"We thought we’d like to have a restaurant inside a casino. We had never done that before," said Alvin Ho, general manager.

Ho noted that in little more than two months in Bally’s, Sea Vegas has attracted tourists and locals.

"Our price range is very reasonable. I would say the average check per person is $20 to $25," he said.

Sea Vegas specializes in Thai fusion cuisine and also offers Vietnamese dishes . There is a 1-to-5 hotness scale.

The dining room of Sea Vegas seats about 110 — a private room seats 22 — and offers such visual features as a small pool and dark woods.

Sea Vegas is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Reservations are recommended.

Specialties: Seafood rice pot, $20; pineapple curry duck, $22; tamarind seafood combo, $24

Starters: Duck lettuce wrap, $9; floating market sa-tae (chicken with peanut sauce), $8; crispy coconut spring roll, $8

Soups and salads: Classic shrimp tom yum, $8; Thai papaya salad, $12; duck salad, $14

Thai entrees: Grilled lemongrass chicken, $14; Drunken Man’s Noodle (noodles, egg and spicy basil sauce), $16; tamarind whole fish, $32

Vietnamese dishes: Goi cuon (rice paper rolled with shrimp, pork, cucumber, mint and lettuce), $8; com tom thit nuong (grilled shrimp and grilled pork with steamed rice), $16; pho tai bo vien (rare steak and meatball, rice noodle soup), $16

Desserts: Crispy fried banana roll with coconut ice cream and caramel sauce, $8
