Latest ‘Walking Dead’ promo teases solidarity — VIDEO
The music for the season-six promo for “The Walking Dead” may sing about unity, but its footage suggests otherwise. The new promo shows shadowy, single shots of stars like Andrew Lincoln, Lennie James and Norman Reedus. It is also not only zombie-free, but absent of some noteworthy characters.
The Comic-Con trailer, which was released in July, suggested a potential showdown between Lincoln’s Rick and James’ Morgan. At that panel, exec producer Scott Gimple said that, this season, “Rick is faced with challenges to the way he does things.”
As for Rick’s beard, which this new trailer shows to be only slightly stubbly, Gimple said that it will “continue to be a barometer” of the hero’s mental state.
“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC on Oct. 11 with a 90-minute premiere.
It’s been a good week for AMC’s zombie apocalypse-themed programming. Sunday’s 90-minute premiere of “Fear the Walking Dead” beat TNT’s “Raising the Bar” to be the top-rated cable series launch on record.
