“Dark Shadows” (PG-13): After being buried alive for two centuries, vampire playboy Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) is unearthed in 1972 to find his estate, as well as his descendants, in ruins in Tim Burton’s take on the gothic soap opera.
Elsewhere, when his estranged father dies, a salesman (Chris Pine) connects with the sister (Elizabeth Banks) he never knew he had in “People Like Us” (PG-13); a filmmaker (Christopher Denham) and his girlfriend (Nicole Vicius) set out to expose a cult leader (Brit Marling) in “Sound of My Voice” (R); and a veteran paranormal researcher (Cillian Murphy) and his star student (Elizabeth Olsen) try to discredit a famed blind psychic (Robert De Niro) in “Red Lights” (R).
