A look at some of the DVDs, CDs and books hitting stores this week:

DVDs

“Paranormal Activity 4” (R): Strange things begin happening when a mysterious boy and young woman move into a Henderson neighborhood in this fourth installment of the found-footage horror franchise.

Elsewhere, innkeeper Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) invites some of the world’s most famous monsters to celebrate his daughter’s (Selena Gomez) 118th birthday, when a human (Andy Samberg) stumbles upon the hotel, in the animated “Hotel Transylvania” (PG). A screenwriter (Colin Farrell) becomes tangled up in the criminal underworld when his oddball friends kidnap a gangster’s beloved shih tzu in “Seven Psychopaths” (R), co-starring Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson and Tom Waits. A man (Aneurin Barnard) who develops extreme agoraphobia after a vicious attack by a group of thugs is forced to fight through his fears when the gang returns in “The Citadel” (R).

Topping today’s TV transfers: “Masterpiece Classic: Downtown Abbey Season Three,” “Misfits: Season Two,” “Pan Am: The Complete Series” and “In the Heat of the Night: The Complete Season One.”

CDs

Justin Bieber, “Believe Acoustic”: Not much could ever make a Justin Bieber song better.

Unless, of course, you strip down his tunes to their bare essence, so his genius can shine through with the brilliance of 10,000 suns.

And that’s exactly what Bieber does on his new acoustic disc.

Your heart is about to melt like M&Ms in hell.

On the nonfiction front, Cissy Houston reflects on the career, life and death of her daughter, Whitney Houston, in “Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love, Loss, and the Night the Music Stopped.”
