Who to watch
Don’t miss the night’s big headliner, Muse. Taking the last set at the Downtown stage, the band will perform recognizable hits like “Madness” and “Uprising.” See Muse at 10:50 p.m.
You’ve probably had “$ave dat Money” stuck in your head since 2015. See Lil Dicky perform his financially responsible ode to 401(k)s and using your cousin’s Netflix password at the Ambassador stage at 8:40 p.m.
Where to eat
Famous for winning Season 5 of “The Great Food Truck Race” on Food Network, The Middle Feast is bringing their fare from Tarzana, California, to the Ambassador Culinary Village. The gyro fries are topped with thinly sliced lamb, tzatziki sauce, feta cheese and tomato and cucumber chunks. Share the heaping dish with a friend (or two).
Buldogi’s Gourmet Hotdogs is bringing seven of its hotdogs to the festival, including a vegetarian offering. But if you can handle the heat, try the Angry Dog, which is topped with spicy pork bulgogi, Asian slaw, jalapeños and fiery aioli. At the Huntridge Culinary Village.
What to look at
Last year, Argentinian-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone left his mark on Life is Beautiful with a mural that combined black-and-white geometric patterns (punctuated by glowing blocks of color) and an even more colorful lightning bolt reminiscent of Zorro’s signature “Z.”
This year, the colors and patterns will pop even more, as the mural lights up with 267 linear feet of neon tubing. See the solar-powered mural next to the Art Motel.
What to drink
If wine is fine but liquor is quicker, the Frose All Day offers the best of both worlds, in frozen form. It combines Notorious Pink rosé, grenache, Tito’s vodka, Bols elderflower liqueur, Contratto sparkling wine, fresh lemon and watermelon. Find it served inside the Crime on Canvas gallery.
What to listen to
The Dome at Downtown Container Park offers 4K sound and light shows. Sit in one of the 25 recliner-style seats and watch animated imagery accompanied by the music of classic rock bands. Shows start every 10 minutes. There’s an extra cost of $10.
