Abigail Williams bringing black metal to The Aruba

They’re nominally a black metal band, though Abigail Williams’ sound isn’t as monochromatic as that handle might imply.

The group’s color palette has shifted over the years, evolving from a straightforward metalcore crunch to heightened symphonic flourishes to a more dense and dark aesthetic.

The group’s latest disc, “Becoming,” sees the band embracing atmosphere and texture to a greater extent than they have previously.

So, just what have they become?

Suffocating.
