The MSG Sphere promised to display “stunning and dynamic imagery unlike anything ever seen before” and it delivered in its debut Tuesday to help America celebrate its 247th birthday.
The venue’s Exosphere fully lit up for the first time about 9 p.m. for the Fourth of July.
The alternating displays included a stylistic stars and stripes, a floral pattern, blue streaks and a one resembling red, gold and white fireworks.
“What a spectacular show, started out pretty tame and just got better and better,” Las Vegas Review-Journal photographer L.E. Baskow said of witnessing and documenting the first show. “Loved the spinning flag ball, the floating clouds and space views. Will be interesting to see the sphere from different perspectives because it will likely look different for each spot. The colors were bright and the show is visually interesting for sure.”
The Sphere is scheduled to open for indoor shows in the second half of the year, with U2 slated to be the first headlining act.
