Holiday event at Providence Dec. 5

The free annual Hometown Holidays will be held in Providence 4-8 p.m. Dec. 5 at the new Huckleberry Park at 10325 Farm Road, north of the I-215 North Beltway and Hualapai Way exit.

Attendees will be able to create new holiday memories with festivities including train rides; Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa craft-making; cookie decorating; holiday-themed carnival games; a bounce slide; and Christmas tree-lighting at 4:30 p.m. Set to holiday music, the event will culminate with fireworks, weather permitting, at 7:30 p.m.

Kids can meet with Santa Claus; P.D., Providence’s lovable canine mascot; and Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Lucy of Peanuts fame. Additionally special Santa photo package pricing will be available, with Providence residents getting pictures with Santa for free.

Several food trucks will be present with a variety of treats for purchase.

To help make holiday wishes come true, kids will have the opportunity to write letters to Santa to benefit the Macy’s Believe campaign, which donates $2 for every letter received to the nonprofit Make-A-Wish organization. Make-A-Wish grants wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions to renew their strength, hope and joy.

To continue with the spirit of giving, attendees are invited to bring canned goods and nonperishable items for those in need through Three Square. The nonprofit food bank provides food assistance to more than 1,300 partner sites in times crisis and hunger.

Hometown Holidays is sponsored by Providence and the Providence Master Homeowner’s Association.

While at Huckleberry Park, visitors also can enjoy the amenities that Providence’s third park offers. Some of these include large and small dog parks, a multi-use events field, full court basketball, outdoor stage area, swings and picnic area.

Before the event, attendees are invited to tour and learn more about the 1,200-acre master plan. Developed by Focus Property Group, Providence is among the fastest-selling master planned communities in the country, according to rankings by leading real estate and industry research and advisory firms. Wide tree-lined boulevards frame the community, which will house 7,500 single and multi-family units. Top builders, including Lennar, Richmond American Homes, Ryland Homes, Summit Homes and Woodside, offer a variety of floor plans and amenity options to fit every lifestyle. In addition to the new Huckleberry Park, the master plan features The Promenade Park, Knickerbocker Park with spectacular views of the entire Las Vegas Valley and miles of trail systems.
