Newly married couple start new life at The Ogden

Some superstitions claim the No. 7 is a lucky one, and for Jasmine Pedroso and Kris Cuaresma-Primm, that may actually be true. Not only has the couple known each other for seven blissful years, but 2015 is a year of milestones, including the celebration of their first wedding anniversary and the purchase of their dream home at The Ogden.

Jasmine and Kris both were graduated from the University of California Berkeley where they developed a passion for technology and led organizations that served the surrounding homeless populations. Using technology to uplift local communities extends into their professions and desire to live in Downtown Las Vegas. Jasmine, a gynecological surgeon who received her master’s degree in public health from Harvard University and her medical degree from UCLA, performs as a minimally invasive robotic surgeon to heal women across Las Vegas. Kris, Uber’s marketing manager for Las Vegas, was the first “on-the-ground” Uber employee in the city and is driven to reduce DUIs and enhance economic opportunity through Uber’s technology and innovations.

“I moved here the summer of 2013 and fell in love with the city and my patients,” Jasmine said. “I rented a one-bedroom apartment in Summerlin and split my time between five different hospitals while trying to convince Kris to leave Silicon Valley and join me in Las Vegas. Eventually, he made the move here a few months later, we tied the knot!”

When they realized they needed more space to meet their long-term plans of having a family, they began looking for a home. The couple looked at single-family homes in Summerlin as well as a few high-rise and loft-style communities.

“The gated communities in Summerlin were nice, but as Bay Area hippies, we yearned for a community where we could participate in its creation,” Kris said. “We want to be able to walk for great Thai food, find a bar with refreshing margaritas or stroll through The Arts District, which features one of America’s coolest collections of urban art murals. We want to live somewhere where everybody knows our first name and that’s what drew us to Downtown Las Vegas. The Ogden fits our lifestyles perfectly as it sits in the center of the community that offers everything we love.”

When Jasmine and Kris toured The Ogden, they were enamored by the classic feel of the building, but as soon as they walked into their now three-bedroom home, the deal was sealed.

“Last Valentine’s Day, we took a hot air balloon trip over the city, which gave us a unique perspective on the valley that we now call our home,” Jasmine said. “When I walked into our new home at The Ogden and witnessed the sweeping views of the mountains right outside our window, I experienced the same feeling I had in that hot air balloon. It feels like we are being hugged by Las Vegas. We can enjoy the tranquility of living high above Downtown Las Vegas, but we can look downstairs and see neighbors and businesses that are redefining and shaping the future of this city.”

Homes at The Ogden range from a one-bedroom, 815-square-foot residence for $229,000 to a three-bedroom plus den 2,044-square-foot home for $629,000. Residences feature a modern design aesthetic in keeping with the architecture and the lifestyle vibe, private balconies and expansive views of downtown Las Vegas, the Strip and the mountains that frame the valley.

The Ogden’s single-story, open floor plans offer flex spaces that can serve as a home office, den or yoga room, extra bedrooms for accommodating multi-generational family and guests and spacious windows that fill interiors with natural light.
