Green Gear: As part of the Season 2 kick-off of “The Green” on Sundance Channel, the network has partnered with Barneys New York and the eco-chic fashion brand Loomstate to launch a first of its kind, national T-shirt recycling program. Consumers are encouraged to drop off old T-shirts to Barneys, from now until April 27. Loomstate will “re-fashion” the T-shirts (re-style, re-dye, re-print, etc.) to create a new, limited edition T-shirt collection to be sold exclusively at Barneys for Holiday 2008. Participating consumers will receive a 20 percent discount on women’s Loomstate for Barneys Green and men’s Loomstate merchandise through April 27. Proceeds from the program will benefit 1% for the Planet.

Help Out George: Lonesome George is lonely again this Earth Day. Lonesome George is the very last of his kind, the Pinta tortoise. But with your help, the closely related Espanola tortoises will soon restore the ecosystem of George’s home. Bring tortoises back to Pinta Island in the Galapagos Islands as you shop for hip used clothing at a bargain on Saturday at any Buffalo Eschange store. All proceeds from Buffalo Exchange’s Dollar Day Sale will go to Galapagos Conservancy to fund a project to repopulate Pinta Island with giant saddleback tortoises. All sale items offered for $1 each at your local Buffalo Exchange will support this ground-breaking work. Earth Day benefits at Buffalo Exchange stores have raised nearly $211,000 for environmental causes since 1997.

Summer Fashion: The worlds of fashion and pop culture will come together at 10 p.m. Saturday at The Beatles Revolution Lounge at Mirage as Christian Audigier unveils his new lines of Ed Hardy intimate apparel and swimwear just in time for summer. Actor and singer Jeremy Jackson hosts the event. DJ Leo Teo spins mash-ups, hip-hop and house music and no cover for local ladies.

Tea Time: Lied Discovery Children’s Museum holds its Mad Hatter Tea Party & Fashion Show in the Great Hall of Fashion Show mall on Sunday at 11 a.m. Follow Alice, the White Rabbit and their Wonderland friends and experience delicious teas and accompaniments. A children’s fashion show comprised of outfits from Macy’s, a tea party, entertainment by Alice and her Wonderland friends and a raffle for children of all ages will all be featured. Proceeds from the Mad Hatter Tea Party & Fashion Show will go to Lied Discovery Children’s Museum’s programs and operations. Tickets and tables are available as well as modeling opportunities. Try It On: Try on clothes at Coldwater Creek at Fashion Show mall on Sunday and the store will donate $1 toward the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure as part of its Try It On for the Cure program. For those who do purchase, the company will also donate 10 percent of the entire day’s sales to Komen.

Tea Time: On Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45 p.m., the Las Vegas Ladies Tea Society is holiding its spring tea “A Day at the Races” at the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas. Periwinkle Cottage will model Mary Frances purses at the end of the event.

The Women’s Event: Macy’s at Fashion Show mall will be holding its Macy Woman Fashion Event from 1 to 4 p.m. April 26 in the Macy Woman department, Level 2. See a fashion show in the Great Hall and find out about the best trends and hottest looks for the modern Macy Woman. After the show, receive 20 percent off of Macy Woman merchandise. The event includes live music, light refreshments and complimentary color analysis. Plus, shoppers who spend $100 or more will receive a goodie bag featuring gifts from top designers while supplies last.

Get Comfy: Macy’s at Fashion Show mall will be holding a Comfort Your Sole event from 2 to 5 p.m. April 26 in Women’s Shoes, Level 1. Macy’s will show the newest comfort shoes from Gentle Souls, Asgi, Geox, Tsubo, Merrell, Born and Ecco. The event includes live music, informal modeling and complimentary massages. Shoppers who spend $100 or more on comfort shoes from participating designers at the event will receive a $20 Macy’s Gift Card while supplies last.
