Even guys will like the smell of Balichi’s Big Tin Candle, which combines tobacco flower, lavender, citrus and sandalwood. Local stylist Nancy Rosu created the candles, made from soy wax, as part of her Balichi line of clothing. The tin enables you to take your 40-hour candle on the road as well so your hotel will smell like home. Look for a line of similarly scintillating body products from Balichi soon. talk about the passion

If you haven’t visited Town Square mall yet, be sure to add it to your list of shopping venues, and stop in to the new Fruits & Passion store. The Canadian company created a line of bath and body products dedicated to the tree, what it considers nature’s most vibrant symbol of strength. The Baobab line comes from an African tree with legendary tales of longer life. Fruits from the tree, harvested twice a year by women in a cooperative in Burkina Faso, create the oils used in the product line. Baobab eau de toilette, $45, foaming bath, $35, whipped body souffle, $28, body scrub, $28, moisturizing milk, $18, shower gel, $14, and plant-derived soap, $7.50, Fruits & Passion at Town Square mall

the golden rule

When Terrell Wick and Richard Atkins decided to create a line of premium denim, they turned to a mathematical equation long thought to have been used by Leonardo da Vinci. The rule describes the relationship among three lines — the longest line is 1.618 times the length of the second, which is 1.618 times the length of the shortest line. The designers used the lines — which they say can be found in the Egyptian pyramids, human body proportions and even the Mona Lisa — to determine where to place rivets and pockets. Added bonus: the line uses Japanese denim and hardware custom-made in Italy. Proportion of Blu straight-leg Quattro jeans, $230, Mojitos at Wynn Las Vegas
