Design Center to host inventory clearance sale
Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas will open to the public June 13 and 14 for a special clearance sale.
The semiannual sale benefits three local charities and was created to help the designer showrooms clear out their inventory in preparation for upcoming home-furnishings trade shows.
Scheduled from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the Pre-Market Inventory Clearance Sale supports Habitat for Humanity, Nevada AIDS Project and Opportunity Village. The California/Central Nevada chapter of American Society of Interior Designers hosts the event and provides professional designers to consult with shoppers.
“The semiannual Pre-Market Inventory Clearance Sale gives the general public an opportunity to learn more about the Las Vegas Design Center and to buy beautiful products from our designer showrooms,” said William Grenewald, general manager of the design center. “With the July Las Vegas Market approaching, showrooms are eager to sell floor samples prior to the market and make room for new product introductions.”
During the sale, a variety of showrooms on the first and second floors of Buildings A and B will offer items such as designer sofas, chairs, bedroom sets, dining sets, tables, area rugs, lighting, accessories, accent pieces, lamps, wall art, paintings, frames, prints and mirrors.
“Everyone wants to see what the Las Vegas Design Center has to offer,” said Ed Barbari, manager of the Pastel Furniture showroom, which sells off its entire inventory twice a year prior to market. “This is a great opportunity for locals to get inside and take advantage of the specials being offered during the Pre-Market Inventory Clearance Sale.”
Diana Tennyson, gallery manager for new Century Picture Corp., said she is looking forward to the event. “This sale offers a rare opportunity for the general public to avail themselves of the same resources utilized in designing homes worth millions of dollars. Designers will be available to help shoppers select the pieces that will best complement the décor of their homes.”
“Whether you’re looking to furnish an entire house or you just need a little something for a specific area of your home, this sale is a great opportunity to find some deals,” said Mollie Stewart, showroom manager for Dovetail Furniture.
She said that December’s premarket sale was remarkably helpful in clearing out her showroom and she hopes for the same in June.
Nearly 11,000 Las Vegas residents attended 2007’s premarket event, which raised $109,170 for the charities.
Admission is $10 per person and will be collected at the door. While stroller check will be available, strollers may not be permitted inside the showrooms.
Complimentary self-parking will be available and valet parking is offered for a $10 fee.
Cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover will be the only acceptable forms of payment. No checks will be accepted.
Deliveries of large merchandise can be arrranged for a fee.
The design center is located at 475 and 495 S. Grand Central Parkway.
